What should I get?

I think they will eventually update the s3 Samsung has had a great success with the s3 and they have an aggressive push and will like to see jelly bean on all carriers also we will push both ends to make it happen even if it's through kies but I feel positive about an update i love project butter smoothness on jelly bean but don't like the roms ugly dialer and messaging app
 
They'll have to push the fix for the kernel vulnerability if they have any effected devices. I don't think the US s3 was affected but they may have some others that are.

Yeah i also mentioned the update on their Facebook page and they reply saying that they will work closely with the manufacturer on this if they never offered that's fine i guess cm10 all the way or maybe clean rom ported :cool:

Hopefully it won't be 4.2 cause 4.2 sucks. They messed jb up with that update. The only good thing about that update is the apps that got updated. The camera is the best part. And the Gmail update. But the ui features they screwed up on. 4.1.2 with 4.2 apps is perfect.

I aint talking about bugs. I'm talking about actual UI changes they made. I hope AOKP makes it to where you can choose either or cause I will just stay on 4.1.2 if not. 4.1.2 is perfectly fine combined with 4.2 apps. Although most of the UI stuff in 4.2 I can change myself and make a hybrid with 4.1.2 but the whole quick settings garbage that is utterly USELESS, I cant change.

Oh ok I see what you mean well I'm sure there will be a walk around that android os is perfect at 4.1

Agreed. 4.1 is pure awesome which is why I dont know why they would make minor changes to the UI that would totally change the functionality. Even changed the lockscreen clock font to this awful garbage where the hour is BOLD and the minutes are standard. It's awful looking.

But like I said, the best things about 4.2 are the apps and most of that stuff has already been ported over.
 
My phone finally got the official jb update to 4.1 last week and I'm perfectly content. I have 4.2.1 on my nexus 7 but wouldn't want it on a phone

On a tablet i could see 4.2 being awesome. But not on a phone like you said.
