What Stylus Features (If Any) Do You Use Often?

Hi,

I'm considering getting a Note 4 over the Nexus 6. One of my "Pros" on the Note side is the stylus. But I can see it going both ways...I can see using it, but I can also see never using it.

So, what features of the stylus do you personally realistically use more than twice every month? Doesn't need to be everyday...just twice a month? If you don't use any, would love to hear from you too.

Mostly for Navigation and Selection.

Samsung's Apps aren't good enough to really compete with Offerings from Microsoft, Google, Evernote and others, which are also available on other platforms/form factors (regardless of OEM).

If Samsung's Windows Desktop and Metro S Note apps were accessible for everyone (even without a Touch Screen/Stylus) or [desktop app] didn't crash or freeze up the minute you tried to do anything remotely useful in it, the S Pen functionality would have a lot more value to me because it would give me a reason to use i.e. S Note over Microsoft OneNote 2013.

I still think Air Command is worthless because it doesn't expose any decent functionality. Action Memo is redundant (better off opening S Note or Scrap Book in Windowed Mode or something) and the rest are too gimmicky to care. I do like the selection features they added in the Note 4, though. I'd use that but it isn't worth basing an entire phone purchase on. Gapgate is real.
 
Air Command is great, it gives you some very useful tools right out of the gate, but if none of them are what you're looking for, it closes as soon as you move on to something else.

S-Memo works extremely well with the phone. I have been using Evernote for a couple of years now, so integrating S-memo with Evernote was a no brainer for me. I never use any kind of desktop app for anything I am doing on my Note 4. You can share just about anything you create as an attachment of some sort. PDF, photo, whatever. With what I do with it, I try to avoid doing anything that resembles "needs a desktop app on the PC" beyond opening an email attachment. But, if I ever need to, the Evernote desktop app works just fine. I have yet to experience any kind of freezing or crashing with mine on the phone or the PC. It also works beautifully with OneNote (use that for work) and have no hassles trying to access it through my desktop app for that.

When it is something really quick, though, Action Memo works great.

And we haven't gotten to the "handwriting to text" funtionality, battery life, or camera performance, all of which are excellent.

I use the S-Pen daily, even more than I thought I would when I transitioned over from the Galaxy S4.
 
It's great when I have to write down a phone number or something. I can call it back up later and link it straight to the dialer. Or contacts. It's great! But the Note 4 has such enhancements to the S-pen, I'm not sure what features I'll use now...
 
I mostly use it to write down something quick... like a phone number, address or grocery list. Great to have that handy!

I am still looking for a great sketching app.
 
This thread is circling the drain, huh? I looked at the OP and the questions is about the stylus, no? Let's keep to the topic at hand.
 
I use the stylus for s-note pretty heavily. I love being able to draw a box of any size, snap a pic in that box and flow my notes around it. I am still learning all the features of this phone, but so far I am really loving it. :)
