Root What to do after you Root?

Hi all,

I just rooted my LG L9 software ver. lgms76910f and I'm wondering what customizations I can do. I mostly rooted it to be able to use the app2sd mod.

But I would love to be able to do some visual customization as well.

BTW, I am a bit of a noob when it comes to this. I have rooted other phones, but I don't seem to find too many possibilities with this LG.

Any help is GREATLY appreciated! :)

Hi Bonnie,
Unfortunately with the newer versions of the L9, LG has encrypted the bootloader and this makes it virtually impossible to unlock. So that limits what you can do with your L9.
Mainly, You can't install any custom ROMs without unlocking the bootloader.
The first thing that your going to want to do is, (I'm assuming that you installed the L9 recovery installer) boot to cwm recovery and create a stock nandroid backup and save a copy of it on the device and then somewhere else safe like your PC or an external hard drive.
Now if your looking for some tweaks and mods then xposed framework and xposed modules are going to be the best bet for you to do some visual customizations...
I would also recommend looking at installing the Kumakan ROM. This can be installed on the L9 without unlocking the bootloader, (but requires the L9 recovery/cwm installed) since it's just a modified stock ROM in a nandroid backup format. Its the one that I use on my L9 and it's great... By far the best ROM for the L9! Has many customizations built in, including xposed framework and some of the best xposed modules and it also has a external/internal memory swap for more internal memory and will negate the need for apps like apps2sd or Link2sd, as these really don't work on the L9 very well to begin with.
You can find the Kumakan ROM here - [ROM] Kumakan - Modified Stock | Optimus L9 | XDA Forums

If you need to still install the L9 recovery installer you can get it here - http://androidforums.com/optimus-l9-all-things-root/791293-guide-recovery-stock-l9-locked-bl.html
I'd recommend that immediately after booting into recovery that you make a nandroid backup, before rebooting back to the system... Just in case you get an error, "encrypting phone". If this happens just reboot back into recovery and restore your nandroid backup and you'll be fine.

Well I hope this helps and gets you started in the right direction.
