The Rezound was/is a 4G phone. And I think the Thunderbolt was too...3G cannot do this on Verizon.

Ok so what you're saying is all 4G LTE phones can do this now. I know it has finally come to my area and my old (2yrs) Dinc 3G won't do it and the Thunderbolt was one of the 1st 4G phones then. I'm still trying to understand 4G LTE. Isn't it for faster data and nothing to do with talk? Also I understand 4G will use up data fast so is there a way to switch back and forth to 3G?
LTE uses a radio that is separate from the 3G/CDMA radio. So although current phones don't do voice over LTE, if you're in a LTE coverage area your data will go over LTE, leaving the 3G/CDMA radio available to do voice simultaneously.
LTE doesn't necessarily transfer more data, it just transfers the same data more quickly. If you use more data with LTE, it's because your usage habits have changed.
Thanks, Now I understand completely!
Btw, How do you like your Droid Bionic? That is what I'm looking for now.
Yeah all LTE phones can do it while on 4G. Well, except the iPhone 5. but only the Thunderbolt and Rezound could do it while on 3G.
Why doesn't Verizon advertise this talk/surf at the same time capability more. If one believed the AT&T commercials, AT&T would be the only carrier with that capability.
Well that is great to know. I know opinions will vary, but wonder what is the better phone- the TB or Resound...just in case I can't get 4G?? I love the voice and data at the same time. Is the Bionic capable of this?

If people use phones the way I think they do, its not a very frequently used feature. Most people have their phone up against their face where they can't take advantage of it. Not saying its not useful, but its not really much of a killer feature. Especially when your competitors can do the exact same thing.
