Help what will the "wipe data/factory reset" actually wipe?

sorry but [lease reply my htc evo 4g is alright but one day when i open it appear only the wall paper and the time signal etc on top what can i do i tr factory reset but nothing change it back to original wallpaper only

Hi Ray I have a similar problem with the galaxy s2
Encryption failed message came up
For some reason!!
Managed to get to android system recovery

I have pics on camera which I want to try and save and not concerned about the other data..will I need to do the wipe data/ factory reset
Or reboot?
Please help

Hi rayhipkiss,

Have a samsung Galaxy s3 GT-i93000 and since this morning it is not getting past the boot screen. I also cannot get into the Recovery Mode but I can get into the Download mode.

I really want my photos and videos off the phone and I have read that doing a Factory reset could help my issue, however, I am concerned that this will remove all my photos etc. I am not worried about contacts or apps - just the pics.

Any advice on the best approach to this???

Believe me ... I have learned my lesson the hard way Backup often which I did not!!!
