Help What would cause problem with touchscreen and microphone

I started having problems using the touchscreen when the phone was closed. It would still work when it was slid open. Then in the middle of a call the person couldn't hear me. Then I rebooted the phone and I couldn't use the touchscreen at all. Now I'm left with a phone that doesn't pickup my voice or touch. Any input as to what would cause this?
