Whatever happened to salami?

Recently we were looking for just that. It seems to have virtually disappeared. Then I got "lucky" and found a small pack.of hard salami. It was even on sale, just $2. I ended up getting "educated" on how bad the stuff is (duh, salami, probably not on the list of any respectable diet). It seems hard salami "has" to be fried in order to compensate for all the fat in it, considerably below 20% if the label is to be believed. I am aware that there is at least 1 more variety, Genoa, which might be more in the lunch meat category. Who has had similar experiences? Does it have to be ordered through some online salami store these days?

i dont know, but i cannot find my favorite sardines anymore

Ocean Prince used to have boneless, skinless, headless, tailess smoked sardines in oil

they were heaven in a can, and now if i want something similar it seems i need to look overseas

I am curious about your thoughts on the taste of 'Twinkies' from the past.

Would anyone care to share their memories of them?
i cant really say much about the taste, because there really isnt much taste

they had to be bigger back then, or my eyes were smaller

everything changes for the worse
anything marketed is only there for NEW consumers

nobody cares if we like something after we try it, they already got our money

more money comes from new customers rather than loyal customers

the only companies that care about loyal customers are the ones that do not appeal to new customers

look at Radio Shack as an example...

Salami; cotto salami, Swiss cheese with mustard on rye bread. My favorite sandwich treat. ( Behind a cheeseburger but that's another thread.)
Sardines; never saw boneless, skinless, headless and tailless sardines before.

Twinkies; hate them. Always have.

Y'all need to try chicken Gizzards.
