What's a good starter amount to invest on Bitcoin?

Lol but this is my point exactly ;)

I don't want to make my own currency... I wanna start doing what the gubmint does and just make more money (dollars) whenever I feel like it :)

But yes that is the point I am trying to make here well trying at least :)

If you just want to start printing money to pay for those billions upon billions of dollars worth of horribly wasteful and extremely expensive aircraft carriers - they just start printing billions of dollars to pay for it and nobody bats an eyelid... devaluing everyone else's money at the same time... robbing everyone for generations..

However if you want to start printing dollars yourself - they want to lock you up for eternity!

This is what I believe is an extremely crooked and jooked system - only those deemed "smart enough" are allowed to hold such "unlimited" power.

They are the only "responsible" people that are deemed "trustworthy" enough to start printing money out of nothing but thin air! ;)

Nice game! Do as you please and just make money out of absolutely nothing :-D

If you want to do what they do - they will lock you up forever and ever. But you are not allowed to do it because then everyone would be doing it - it is only left in the hands of gubbermint - strange game isn't it? There is only one "winner" here that I can see.

Why are they allowed to do it to fix their messes but ordinary people are not allowed to print their own dollars to get out of what ever mess they created?

It is a very deep and quite a direct question that they never want to answer.

(Please note not picking on the Yanks - it is all of them (gubmints) that love to do this and destroy the economy)

It is basically saying a heck of a lot in a single question :)

lol but thank you for the nice light hearted jokes as always thats why I love it here! :D

That's because it's illegal, and you would also devalue the currency to worthless.
Your self-printed dollars would be about as valuable as Monopoly money, and buy literally nothing!

But that's exactly my argument ;)

The gubbermint is allowed to do this... but everyone else is not?

But why? ;)

What makes them so special....

Scary that the Romans started clipping their coins (one of the first inflations to occur in history from what I see) to con their soldiers into believing they were being paid the same but an ever so tiny piece of gold being cut off their coins so nobody could really notice it so they could melt it all into new gold / silver coins..... those murder killing empires can be extremely expensive...

But at least their currency was backed by gold!

But the dollar? ("insert any fiat currency here")

It is not really backed by anything really...

Hmm... a bit scary isn't it.....

Fiat currencies scare me...

Guys on a side note.... how do I hide a lot of gold coins to go through customs if I have a lot of gold coins (Kruger Rands) on me??

And no not through an air port - I want to do it from a yacht... because I have a feeling it will be much easier because an airport will be jail for sure :)

What say you?

Because they own something called the national mint, where all the country's currency is produced. And like I said, if everyone was allowed to print their own money, the currency would be worthless.
Governments don't like to print extra money, and in the UK they don't even call it that - they invented a new term for printing money, which is known as "quantitative easing"

At the end of the day, because they underwrite the currency.

To illustrate, let's consider the implications of you printing your own currency - we'll call it the Stinky Dollar, for the sake of argument. It's a barter token which claims to be exchangable for some agreed quantity of goods or labour, because that is fundamentally what money is about. And by printing them you are saying that you, or whoever you represent, will underwrite the promise. So you can print say 10 million of them, tell people each has the same value as a US Dollar, and as long as people are happy to believe this and use them as a medium of exchange you are fine. But if they lose confidence then those who can't find someone willing to exchange their Stinky Dollars for goods or another currency are going to expect you to make good on the promise that's implicity printed on the note - which gets very awkward if they all lose confidence at once.

Now let's think what it means if you print your own copies of my banknote, the Hadronic Krona. What you are doing there is telling people that I promise to underwrite them - without consulting me on this matter - and using that promise to obtain goods for yourself. Now care to guess how I'm going to react when I find out? You are definitely going to earn a hard stare and some cutting words.

So if you print the Government's scrip without their permission, you are effectively doing the same to them. And they carry a bigger stick than I do. Now sure, you probably can't print enough notes to cause a problem for them (whereas you probably can print enough to cause a problem for me), but if you are allowed to do it why isn't everyone else? And at that point everyone is carrying millions in notes, effectively promises that nobody is going to underwrite, and the notes that the Government has printed become as worthless as everyone else's and society collapses. And that, ultimately, is why the Government are not going to stand for you doing it.

I don't want to make my own currency guys... I want to get away from those who have total control printing millions to cover up their messes... If I can't have the same power and say as they do I will out my faith in something that will never increase - such as bitcoin.

This is exactly my point I am trying to get across.

So you are okay with gubbermints abusing power but you are not okay with other people abusing this power? That is very strange. I find that very odd.

So gubbermint can print billions upon billions extra to hide their skullduggery but the average man cannot and if he doesn't like what gubbermints are doing there is nothing he / she can do about it but just smile as he gets kicked in the teeth and say yes sir?

Why do you have faith in gubbermints and their fiat currencies?

Some of you guys are scaring me a bit here :(

One believes in gubbermint having total control while the other believes one where their is decentralization where they no longer have control / power... because you don't really have a say in the matter now do you?

I am not a fan of cutting coins like the ancient Romans or any modern day gubbermint - in fact it's far worse as it is not even backed by anything of any real value like gold is. At least the old currencies had something backing them not the like the ones today do.

I prefer decentralization but each to their own I guess. But I want to stay very weary / clear of those who believe in gubbermint and their fiat currencies.

You are welcome to put your faith in fiat / gubbermint currencies I won't play that game though not in the long run :)

But for now I will oblige only out of no real alternative (for now) but not with great appreciation or admiration... because they are screwing me (and everyone really) over every second with inflation from their printing to cover their constant mess...

I don't want to play their thieving game :)

But each to their own :)

What's the alternative, Stinky? ( <-- rhetorical, there is none, really)

Money, currency, cash, Mooh-LA is a medium of exchange, not a "thing" of value.

Let me put to you this way ...

There are ten people standing in a line and 10 loaves of bread in a basket. Who get's the bread if everyone wants two loaves?

Anarchy: Everyone dives for the basket at once and fights for it. The strongest get most, the weakest get none and possibly seriously hurt and some of the bread is damaged in the process.

Monarchy: The person who brought the bread arbitrarily decides who gets it. Most likely he/she splits one loaf into ten pieces and keeps the rest.

Oligarchy: The smartest, biggest, prettiest members of the group decide how it should be divided and keeps a good portion for themselves.

Democracy: all 10 pick representative(s) to create rules about common resources and then elect different people to enact, enforce and distribute, making sure that they always have more bread than anyone else.

Communism: The biggest person and his friends distribute one loaf to all the remaining people equally claiming that's all there is, even though everyone can see all 10. Anyone who questions it is beaten and gets none.

Utopia: Everyone has their own basket and doesn't worry about it.

Heaven: No one needs bread in heaven (because they're already dead. :p)

Hell: You're here already.

^^^ Hahaha! XD

That was AWESOME! :D

(lol just kidding! xD)

sorry but sometimes I gotta wonder it's human lol xD

But yeah there is kind of an alternative well kind of in a way ;)

But yes good point hehe :D

not really any alternative lol... so I guess I will just get kicked in the teeth then! :'(

Are we all in hell maybe already but don't know it? :D:D:D
