What's for dinner ?

Chuck roast, potatoes and carrots in the slow cooker, ready to start. Low and slow, all day.
Do you add Dr. Pepper to it? If not, I highly recommend it.

I liken a slow cooked chuck with DP to a smoked chuck. It's the real deal.
Our house recipe for slow cooked chuck roast is to get enough olive oil to cover the bottom of the cooker; and pour enough Cavender's seasoning to cover the oil. Then put the roast in and coat it - top, bottom and sides - with the mixture. Add pieces of potato around the perimeter of the cooker, on top of the roast; then add carrot slices (or baby carrots) to completely obscure the roast from view. Grind a little salt and pepper over that, cover and cook on low for about 8 hours. Falls apart, melts in your mouth, and the flavor will make angels sing.

We ate at a local restaurant called the RibCrib. I see that they have 60 restaurants located in eight states. They started out in Tulsa Ok. Their bbq is pretty good but also pretty generic. It's always the same so you know exactly what you are getting. We use to eat there often before I purchased a smoker. Now it's a couple of times a year for their breaded catfish or chicken fried steak which was my choice tonight. The wife had their fried chicken. Decent meal at clean establishment that is five minutes from my home.

The Boss Lady is making me some liver and onions tonight. That's something that I truly love to eat.
Oh me too brother! I'm cooking out some chicken livers wrapped in bacon tonight. The blend of flavors are to die for.
I don't get to have my liver and onions anymore. I always breaded and quick browned my liver and then cooked my onions and made my gravy and baked the livers submerged in my onion gravy. The wife can't eat gravy anymore, the carbs spike her blood sugars :(
