I keep hearing people say their decision was partly based on weather the phone had 2.0 or not. Since the Eris is my first droid, I only know what 1.5 has. Whats the big difference

Not much. You get Googles GPS navigation....thats about it. HTC sense UI interface on the Eris is so good that nobody cares if it they have 1.5 or 2.0

with 2.0 you get a lot of apps that dont work 
really though, there isn't a whole lotta of difference. like grim said, the navigation, gmail app can handle multiple accounts, little things.
i think 1.5 with sense ui > 2.0 vanilla IMHO
plus most apps are 1.5 compatible, lots are being ported to 2.0 but i still see people having issues.
plus once htc tweaks sense for 2.0 we will get im, im almost positive.

What is the target date for the upgrade to 2.0 and will be be taken straight to 2.0 or do we have to go through 1.6, etc.?
