What's the advantage/disadvantage of a curved screen?

I heard there is much debate on whether Samsung will give this a curved screen. Sounds cool to me but why the hesitation.
 
Cool factor yeh, because nobody else has one. Advantages? Non that I can see.

We were trying to rid ourselves of curved screen TVs for most of the 20th century, I just can't see why I would need one on my smart-phone.
