What's the difference between Desire and Desire S?

I cannot seem to find a comparison chart except that the S comes with 2.3 installed

Is that it?

Well Desire S is a slight improvement on original Desire. They have tweaked minor things like internal storage.. Old Desire only has 512mb Desire S has 1.1gb. So thats a significant increase in storage for apps. They have added new Sense features on Desire S like skins so you could customise it more and of course 2.3 Gingerbread. Other then that everything else looks the same but Its a must have phone for those who dont own original Desire.

The /system partition on a desire is 250MB. New Sense roms need more space than that though.

Severe cut down of the DHD roms is required to fit in 250MB, so the space increase for /data is not as simple as 1.1GB - 250MB - 40MB (cache)

Let's not forget the difference in processing power: Desire runs on 1st gen Snapdragons with Adreno 200 GPU, while Desire S runs on 2nd gen Snapdragons with Adreno 205 GPU. Especially the new GPU performs at least twice better than the old one.
