What's the difference between using...

... the built-in Android utility to move and application to the SD card and using one of the apps from the market to do it? Any benefits that a particular app offers that the built-in Android utility doesn't?

TIA

Well app2sd will make you a list of all movable apps so you don't have to go through each app and see if it can be moved. So it just saves time. At least that's all I can think of right now.

Good point. Now, I see like a half dozen different apps that say "app2SD" or some close variant on the same name. Does anyone have any recommendations on which one they use and why it might be better than the others? Or are they all more or less equal? Ratings seem fairly close for all.

I think some of the root-required ones will try to force apps to the SD even if they aren't made to run there. Usually this is OK, but widgets should never be forced onto the SD as they will crash.

Another good feature of App2SD is the ability to batch move the apps to/from SD card.
This is especially helpful, when you need all apps to be on Internal or SD card.

Some App2SD apps will also clear the apps cache in one go, so that you have more free internal storage space available.
