What's this morning's update?

I just happened to look at the Kyocera website, and wow, the Kernel has been posted. At the same time MetroPCS starts sending an update to the phone. I postponed it, wanting to know what it is first. It would be just like Metro to update us once the old Kernel comes out so that basically it is of no value. I want recovery for 4.3 more than I want 4.4.

Well i just checked the update and my phone still says 4.3 so if this was 4.4 it didn't change anything

It disabled root, and I just happened to have kingroot disabled as I was trying to install supersu (I still haven't had any luck with installing supersu). I reenabled kingroot after the update, and I had root again. A few apps complain about not having supersu but they still work! Root checker said that my root was incomplete, but now its says it's fully working after a reboot!

I have a virgin hydro life from the store. Is there no possibility of a root if I install the update?

Weird things are happening like apps will lose their data etc....

Brought in my Hydro to Corp store yesterday. They plugged it into their diagnostic computer but couldn't find a solution, so they ordered a warranty replacement.
