What's your favourite browser?

GureniG

Lurker
Which browser did you use for the longest period of time? What did you like about it? What are you using now?

I've been using Chrome ever since I got my Nexus 5 and never really tried anything else. Recently, they released an update that forces you to navigate tabs from the multitasking menu (annoying >.>)

I gave up on Chrome and for the last month I've been using Jet Browser which is just fantastic. It has a really similar UI to that of a desktop browser as far as tabs go, its customizable enough to not deter from using the settings, and even has a freaking ad blocker built in.

(p.s. this is my first time on the forums so go easy on me :))

It's all good GurreniG. The tabs get smaller the more you have open. I'm comfortable with 3 open on my HTC One M8 which is only .06 in wider than your LG Nexus 5. I don't usually need more than that.

I would say Chrome. Google's Chrome for Android is a powerful extension of the Chrome browser for Windows and OSX, and one of its best features is the ability to sync your browser tabs from one device to another, making it so you can be looking something up on your laptop and pull it up on your phone when you're out and about. If you're an Android 5.0+ user, Chrome for Android can also split out its tabs as individual windows so they look like their own apps in the app switching interface.

Tried most of them, and kept going back to CM Browser because of its' bookmark handling system.
And the browser just plain works well. This is on a Galaxy S5, don't own a tablet.

Dolphin. Boat was all right until it added all the extra crap on favorites. At least Dolphin dumps it when you close.
I refuse to keep history. Private mode and Dolphin Zero aren't bad.

You shouldn't use CM Browser. Really, you shouldn't. Seriously.

Strongly suggest that you uninstall CM Browser and anything else you installed by Cheetah Mobile, DU Apps, Go Development Team, and 360 Mobile Security, just to name some of the worst offenders.

Boat Browser. I like the multi-window function.

okay guys, you talked me out of CM Browser....
so, I just installed Boat Browser and read the features that it has, and also like the Bookmarks management.

how do you make it Pinch 'n Spread??
that was what kept me using CMBrowser, it will pinch 'n spread and word wrap

Opera on my phone because I like that if a download fails, you can restart from there. I use Dolphin or Puffin on my tablet.

Pinch to spread works best on full websites that don't have a mobile version. Mobile versions of websites are shown at whatever defaults you've set for text under Page Content settings. You can enable zoom buttons in Browser Settings. Actually it is kind of complicated. I think I'll try Polarity for awhile. Not uninstalling Boat mind you. but a change never hurt yet.

I use Chrome. You can get rid of the multitask tab navigation in chrome settings. I've tried other browsers, but settled with chrome.

After I posted that, I happened onto a favorite forum and they supported mobile browsers, and yup, it did word wrap, and the fonts were nice and big like I had set them up in the phone.

so, that solved that dilemma for a while...
I've been so busy rigging up my m/c and its' trailer, that I have not had time to look at forums.

I pulling out at 6 AM CST local in about 5ish hours, and riding to Eureka Springs, AR.
Then on Sunday, I head for Washington, DC to look at every Smithsonian Museum I can cram into 2 full days of walking and riding the metro buses ;)

Then off to Edgefield, SC for a big international m/c rally for gasp! Goldwing folks, who else

. here is my pride and joy, the trailer is packed to the gills with spares that won't be needed, but that's okay.... I call it insurance.
