Not sure if I've posted in the right place but really need help with an answer for this question.
While abroad, a friend gave me a spare phone and SIM card to use for the duration of my stay.
I installed WhatsApp to use for this time. When I left, I took the phone but not the SIM ( they will use the SIM) and beforehand, I deleted my whatsapp account and i'm pretty sure I didn't back up any chat.
My question is, if my friend installs WhatsApp with the same SIM and number on a new device, as WhatsApp is registered to that same number, will they be able to restore chat and contacts?
I don't want my friend to be able to read previous messages I sent from the WhatsApp. If the account was deleted, they don't have access to the phone it was installed on AND I didn't back up any chat, is there any way they can restore the information on their new device?
