For some reason(?) when I launch Whatsapp on my phone I get a Google Drive Backup window pop up asking me for the frequency of backups - followed by my account. The account verification fails and I have been through (not quite) every solution on the web - constantly rebuilding the phone. A solution is choosing not to have google drive backup, done by accessing the Whatsapp menu - my problem is I cannot access the menu because when I launch Whatsapp the Google Backup window appears first. I've tried re-installing Whatapps but google drive back keeps launching. Is there a way I can get the the Whatsap menu other than launching it?

Help Whatsapp - Google Drive

I've just discovered that at infrequent and random 'switch-ons' of the phone when I press the Whatsapp icon Whatsapp does actually launch! Last night I went into the settings and they are set not to use google drive so I'm now a bit confused. I have re-built the phone (factory reset) and re-install Whatsapp a number of times so I do not know what to do from here.
