Whatsapp in notification bar

I am trying to disable the sender notification for Whatsapp in the Android notification bar and am not having much success. I have everything check to not show and it still shows. Thoughts?

Hi I am new to Android, now trying to set up a Samsung Note II.

I am also having this problem. I moved from iPhone where you can disable the notification in whatspp completely but in Adroid environment this appears not possible. I can now only disable the "popup notification" but whenever a whatsapp message comes in, it still appears in the notification bar (for 1 second) and is also appearing when the "flip-down" the screen where you see again the notification message. I want to disable these as well.

Anyone knows something?

settings > apps > find the app in question and unselect "show notifications"
