WhatsApp noch kostenlos?

Wanted to use WhatsApp again after a month or two. Had to be reinstalled first, phone number entered, etc. Still doesn't work.

Is it still free like it was before? Or what does this hint(?) mean (saying, mobile phone provider charges may apply):

Don't get these to work, this always appears (saying the app was closed):

This app is still free. What's the error message after all? Would you like to upload some screenshots about that issue?

Yes, of course, but what but what should they show? There are no messages besides the on above. I just cannot open the program. I each time have to enter the number and install, etc., all the same over and over again.

Uninstall it,
Reboot your phone,
Open Google Play Store and install the latest edition of WhatsApp,
Try to sign in your WhatsApp.

OK. There once was a message when trying to install, that there is a back up of my data found on Google Drive or so and that it is only this time available, possible to download / use it, after that never again, so I clicked of course to use / install / download it. I had thought the user's data was stored on some WhatsApp or Facebook / Meta or whatever server, always being available.

Can I download that data after having reinstalled WhatsApp?

you seem to get a 'exception' the app crushes, which devices are you using?
Try clearing the app cache memory

I use Sony Xperia X F5121.

I got it working now. Uninstalling that crap in installing worked (I should have thought of that myself, but that message saying that my own data just can be download only now, then never again, was a bit frightning.

Thank you.
