Help Whatsapp not working on 3G but does on Wi-Fi

John P

Well-Known Member
For some reason today my Whatapp messenger has stopped working on 3G, it wont send or receive messages. (It was working fine before)
It is still working fine over Wi-Fi though.

I haven't changed anything today, or received any update.

Has anyone else experienced this problem today? I'm in the UK on the 3 network.

Any ideas what could be causing it?

Everything else still works fine.

John :)

Sorry forgot to add, I have un-installed and re-installed twice, and rebooted the phone etc.

Hi John,

Yep me too. I have galaxy s2 on three and my whatsapp also stopped working today from about 9.30am onwards.

Same problem unable to send or receive messages. Use this daily so its very annoying stopping all of a sudden. Tried everything from using wifi only to uninstalling and downloading again. Even tried paying the 69p fee thinking maybe my free year trial had expired but still no luck.

Anyone have any answers ?

Thanks

Hi Russ, thanks for replying, strange isn't it.

I have just reinstalled it again this morning and it seems to be working now, touch wood. Not sure what the problem was.

Hello guys!

In case your whatsapp works only on wifi and not on 3G or 4G that means you have to adjust your APN configuration ( Access point names ) you will find it in the wireless & networks settings of your android.
Usually the main problem is in the MNC ( mobile network code) or MCC (mobile country code) of ur APN for me i set my MNC on 03 and my MNC on 415 and it worked immediately.
To find the MNC and MCC u have to:

enter your APN ( Access point names )
enter your ******WAP
Scroll down to Find MNC and MCC and set them to your country's MNC and MCC. ( ull find the right numbers in the link below): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_Network_Code
