Whatsapp Payment Options

Okay. I'm trying to pay for someone else's whatsapp service. On their website, it says:

WhatsApp FAQ - My account is going to expire, what do I do?

But in reality, only GOOGLE WALLET and PAYMENT ISSUES show up. There is no "send payment URL" and that is the way you would pay for someone else. They send you the phone number specific url from their phone.

Here's more on that:

Send Payment URL means that you can send a mail to yourself or a friend, who wants to pay for you.
The link contains an address that allows you to pay for your phone number using Google Wallet or PayPal.
The main advantage in using the link is, that you can pay using any PC or even ask a friend to pay for you. Your friend does not need any access to your mobile phone and no passwords or credit card infos are saved on your phone.
NOTE: As your phone number is part of the generated link, use only the link generated by your WhatsApp to pay for your phone. Do not use any other links, as each number has a unique link.

This is straight from their website, but none of this crap appears on the newest version of Whatsapp. Can any of you find a work around??

I tried hitting that "payment issues?" button, which took me to paypal. I can copy and paste THAT url, but I have no way to know if it's the right thing. Has anyone done it that way? The url doesn't contain the phone number, nor is there any info at all on paypal showing what you are paying for.

Finally got an answer from an actual human at whatsapp. lol I wanted to post the answer in case anyone else comes across this thread looking for the same info.

To have the "send payment url" option show up, you have to download the mobile web version. Go to whatsapp.com/android from your phone and download. It ends up "replacing" your play store app, but it's the same thing. Think of it as just going to the play store and downloading an update. That's all it does.
