Whatsapp - unable to remove contact. Solved

Hey all

I'm using an old Google phone (Samsung GT-I5500) and have an odd problem with Whatsapp.

I want to delete a contact and for some reason I can't. Anyone know how to do this? I have the latest version on Whatsapp.

Initially I removed the contact from my phone address book and it was still in Whatsapp, I tried to 'refresh' my Whatsapp contacts list but it's still there (if I'm not mistaken, I think the refresh option actually goes the other way? (ie populates your phone address book from your Whatsapp address book?))

I've tried un-installing, and re-installing. No joy.

I then un-installed, manually removed the 'Whatsapp' folder from the phone, rebooted the phone and re-installed. No joy, the contact still appears in my contacts list in Whatsapp. I can't find any option anywhere to delete it.

I also tried re-creating the contact manually in my phone but when I do a re-fresh, the phone seems to simply create another entry in my phone address book so I have 2. Yet again, remains in Whatsapp.

Thanks for reading - anyone know how I can accomplish this seemingly simple task? Thanks!!

Edit: I solved this - my sim had a copy of the contact and my address book was set to display only phone contact and not sim ones! I deleted it from my sim and it vanished from Whatsapp.

I have something easy which obviously worked for me
First of all make sure the contact is deleted from ur address book by selecting contact>setting>display all contacts
After that, remove your sim, and follow step 1 again, that is go to adress book setting>display all contacts
This time you will definitely see all other contacts also that wernt able to delete, so delete them
Insert your sim back and ofcourse refresh whatsapp, it may take 1 or 2 mins after ur refresh fr contacts to disappear bt it is worth trying,
