Hi all, I have a question regarding whatsapp messenger...

Is there a way to have a full message display in your notification bar at the top of the phone instead of just "message from"?

I know that on Jelly Bean (Android 4.1.1) at least, I can see the first line of each message, but if there is more than one then it just shows '2 messages' etc. What Android version are you on?

There is also a default quick message you can set in the Default Messaging app...

Otherwise pulling down the Notification Tray should show you the first 2 lines of the text.

I'm on Android 4.0.4 version. I do see the full message when I pull down the notification bar, but I would rather see the message at the top of the phone in the notification bar without actually having to pull down on the bar (if that makes sense). Right now I see the whatsapp "handset logo" when a message comes in.

Ah I see what you mean now unfortunately I don't think its possible though when you first get a message it appears in the notification bar but it disappears shortly after. I'll have a look around and see if I find anything, I'll let you know of I do
