Have the Droid Pro and likin' it. 'Tis my first Android phone, but not my first smartphone. I started with Windows Mobile 6.5 (ugh) and then was off to RIM world b4 gettin the Pro.

Its a stylin' phone, but I havent taken to rooting it yet. Why? Well mainly as I have not found a reason to! Give me a good reason and perhaps Ill consider it, LOL.

Nice to have you here! As for rooting, I'm going to suggest holding off on rooting until
1) you find a reason to
2) you learn a little more about android
I've had a few friends jump into rooting to early and ruin their stuff, so it is possible to be to early on that bandwagon
