When do I get Jelly Bean??

I recently switched from an iphone4 to a Samsung Galaxy S3 16gb and have been hearing great things about the new update Jelly Bean. I live in Canada and my carrier is TbayTel/Rogers, when can I expect to see this update? a co-worker of mine has a year old Samsung Nexus and he has Jelly Bean on his already.

Nexus devices are Google devices. They use pure android with no notifications. Nexus devices get everything first

from the sounds of it, you'll be getting JB around the same time as our friends down in the states which is in a few months.

Looks like October 25,2012 is the when we'll see ANDROID 4.1 for those on SPRINT. (See PHANDROID NEWS article 10/24/12).

How will Sprint determine how they will roll out JB?

I are they say it will roll out over a few weeks starting tomorrow.

Do they go by region, order of activation, or serial number?

A guy at my work and his daughter have matching GSII units on Sprint and when that phone got its last update, her's received the OTA two weeks before his and they bought and activated the phones at the same time. Maybe her's was a earlier build?

Good question! Not even going to venture a guess.

Anyone?

That doesn't guarantee anything. Wouldn't be the first time sprints sent an internal memo and then didn't update

North American versions on based on carriers. Samsung has already released JB to the international version, official, unbranded JB.
So they did keep their word.

It's up to the individual carriers to update your phone. Samsung has little control over the process of delivery or timing after Jellybean has been formatted for the S3. Which is already done.

didnt they say it would come out in oct? now they saying after galaxy note 2 release! DA ****!

Where's youre JB?
It's on your Galaxy Note 2 you haven't bought yet! But seriously...

Forget about Jelly Bean. Tell you what- don't expect the update. If you do get it, you'll feel good when it does come to your phone.

Or start rooting.

There's no reason a brand new device wouldn't get an incremental update like 4.0.4 to 4.1 and even 4.1 to 4.2.

I'd be real mad if I didn't get jb. Luckily enough I'm rooted so no issues :D
