Help When I close an app the folder stays open

I have a GS3 & since the most recent update last week when I open an app in a folder & then close the app the folder remains open. In order to get the folder to close I have to hit the home button which takes me to a different screen, just tapping outside the folder doesn't close it...or if it does, it opens another app. How do I shut this off? When I close an app I expect the folder to also close.

I have ZERO interest in adding another app or service to launch my apps & I'm not going through rooting and all that crap, if it isn't something that can be shut off I'll just pull the apps I use most out of their folders.

I run Nova launcher. It works the way you want. Close the app, the folder is small again. I'd check on my wife's Note 3 (she uses TouchWiz) but she's playing Bingo and I'm not that brave.

I know you said you have zero interest in using a 3rd party launcher but thats the best i can suggest

My wife finished playing, so I checked TW. The folder closes when the app did, so the OP has a problem limited to his phone, or it's another bug in the 4.3 S3 update. (How many digits of bugs is that now?)

My S3 does the same thing, except touching outside the folder does close it.
