When I saw the Apple iPad commercial for the first time...................

first time i saw the ads i sat there thinking, hmm, 16gig, 32gig, and 64gig, and its called the ipad. so you have your light, regular, and heavy absorbancy pads huh?

i played with one the other night, it was my sister in laws, it would make a really nice but very expensive digital photo frame, other than that the $600 she spent on that she got a lot less than the $179 that I spent on my HP mini 311. :D Oh yeah, my mini came with 160 gigs of storage space. ;)

Its very interesting to note this. The interviewer, says, "Why not put a wifi connection on it [iPod] to buy music and such?" Then Steve says that "computers have larger hard drives and larger screens, and putting a store to buy music, would be difficult because of the small screen." Interestingly enough, 4 years later, he did just that with the iPod Touch. Technology does change.

Also, he did have a point. 7 years ago, handwriting on tablet PCs was all the rage. Unfortunately, handwriting is incredibly slow compared to a keyboard. It did seem reasonable at the time to say they would fail. However, mobile computing has grown to be more powerful, efficient and affordable. Its still a niche market, but not quite like it used to be.
