Help Where are videos stored?

Skybolt

Newbie
I took a short video with my Incredible. I can see it fine on the phone, but I want to transfer it to my computer at home. I have mounted the phone and SD card on my computer (macbook, if that matters), and can explore the various files, but the video does not show up in any of the "video" folders. On the phone, when I open the video folder, I see my video plus a video podcast, but when the drives are open on the desktop, I can only find the podcast video. Where am I going wrong?

Thanks for any help!

I'm having the same problem. When I look in the DCIM folder on my Mac, it's empty but the vid file is definitely on the phone. Somewhere...

Photos and Videos are stored on the phone at: /emmc/DCIM/100MEDIA

They can be accessed with Filexplorer or any good file manager. They can also be accessed with the USB cable by looking at the /DCIM/100MEDIA folder on the first mounted drive.

Hope that helps.

are the videos/images in icon ? or are they showing the picture and some moment in the video ? if yes how can I transform them into icon because I have some confidential things on it

You mean video messages? If it is as MMS then the most likely is either your APN settings are wrong or they just exceed the maximum length for your carrier. If some other app you'll need to tell us which one. Of course it might be related to your second problem...

Stored videos not opening implies either a broken app or a corrupted file. Try some different media players, and if they are all the same then it may be the files (you aren't keeping them on a large SD card that you bought surprisingly cheaply? A fake card could easily explain it as the files get corrupted once you exceed the real capacity of the card, which is much lower than it pretends to be).

why can't I send video posts? My kept videos won't open either.

You're still using a HTC Droid Incredible? Maybe the whatever it is you're trying to send video to doesn't support this phone, bearing in mind the Incredible is now 8 years old, running 2.3 Gingerbread, and so probably isn't supported by many things at all now.
