The green "Voicemail" icon on my Maxx (as displayed right out of the box) dials VM similar to when dialed from the contact list (where all the appropriate ,,, and ### are entered. Hit the Green VM icon on the home screen; displays "New Voicemails (xx)." Bottom of screen gives option to "Call Voice Mail" or "Subscribe to Visual VM." If Call VM is selected, it dials VM but does not enter the ,,,Pin# automatically, as it is in the contact list. The number dialed from the home screen icon shows *86 only, no matter how many ,,, or ### or pins are entered into the VM contact list. Being a newbie I would have to think the green icon on the home screen was intended to be the path to retreive VMs and/or to subscribe to VVM if so desired. The real purpose, according to your post, is that the Green VM icon planted on my home screen was just sucker bait to have me subscribe to VVM, i.e., lead you down the path and then, "Hmmm, doesn't work. Better sign up for the $2.99/month VVM." Well, as mentioned in my last, just got off the phone with VZW and swapped the Maxx for the BB Bolt. With a BB you hit the 1 key and "boom" you have VM, without having to bore down 3 or 4 levels to get to the contact list, add it as a favorite, enter a pin or subscribe to a service. Cost me a $35 restocking fee, but bought a lot of peace of mind. You can find me on the BB forums from now on, but with the much more elegant BB user interface, doubt I'll be there very often. Nonetheless, I do appreciate and thank you for the response. Over and out.
