Where does stock app store email?

[TooManyDaves]

I received an email on my work email and opened it with the stock app. Sometime later it was deleted during a web session (not by me) from both inbox and deleted items.

Does the stock app save the mail anywhere? Where and how are emails save on the phone?

Thanking you in advance,

Dave

It stores them in app data. However if you've set up your email account as IMAP it syncs with the server folders so anything deleted from the server will be deleted from the phone app & vice versa.
