Help where I can see how mb network I used and skype problem

Hello, I have samsung galaxy s i9000 and I can't find where I can see how much mb I spent on network? by the way i couldn't log in my skype account in mobile why ?

There's no native usage counter. You have to download a 3rd party app from the market. 3G watchdog for example.

As to skype, is your phone on froyo?

Which version you suggest best for average download apps like a skype etc. version 2.3.3 ?
How I can see my mobile is root or isn't, perhaps you know if I will upgrade to 2.3.3 my samsung will little bit less lag ?

You should always have the latest version so you should upgrade to 2.3.3 if thats available in your country. Rooting is something you manually have to do. So if you didnt do it then the phone is not rooted. The phone should be DEFINITELY better in terms of lag once you upgrade to 2.3.3 and do a hard reset via recovery mode.
 
I live in UK, but use mobile abroad as well, I hope isn't problem for update.
Could you please suggest your favourite tutorial how to root and upgrade Samsung Galaxy i9000 because it's lots of tutorials and I don't know which will be the best.

You dont necessarily need to root your phone if you want to upgrade it. (However if you want to root your phones for other reasons then let me know and I would provide a link to very easy tutorial).

If you just want to upgrade you should install Samsung KIES from the CD if you got that or download from their website. Then you install and open the sofware and plug your phone into the computer. BACKUP all the data. The software will automatically show the option that an upgrade is available and you can follow the instructions thereafter.


You will first need to upgrade to Froyo and then 2.3.3. You dont necessarily lose your data after the upgrade but its a good practise to backup beforehand and it is advisable to do a hard factory reset after the upgrade so that the phone functions smoothly.

I think my mobile is rooted, because I have 'Superuser Permissions" icon. Then I just only need update. I have some issue, when I try connect to via usb cable isn't problem, when I open 'Samsung Kies' it's just stuck and nothing to do.
How you doing backup ?

hi,
when I started Kies first then plugin mobile I get 'Reconnect the device in Samsung Kies (PC studio) mode. Current connection mode not supported by Kies.

Then I reconnect and get same issue.
Maybe problem is my laptop which have Windows 7 64 bit...

Goto Settings->Wireless and Network-> USB Settings and select Samsung Kies
 
Now I have other problem when I am try to connect to PC.

Why I have lots of problems to connect my mobile via "samsung kies' program ?
