What build are you on now?
Where did you buy it from? If somewhere like Vodafone, the download may not work and you'll need to do some other steps if you want gingerbread now, rather than wait.

So what 'other steps' do I need to do to install Gingerbread on my Nexus One?
And, wherever I got my Nexus One, Google still announced, in December, that Gingerbread would be pushed to Nexus phones "in the coming weeks". That IS 10 weeks ago! And it did not happen.
You bought your phone from a carrier. They dictate when it's pushed, not Google.
You need to follow the steps listed here I believe. I've not tried it, I bought my phone direct from Google. I'm sure others who have done it will be along soon.
