Hi guys i bought my Nexus one 3 months ago brand new from a guy which was given it at a google conference by google.

I always see info about different versions of the phone eg usa, european etc. How do i know what my phone is?

Also i updates from 2.1 to fr50, not sure if i should of becuase i have a vodaphone uk sim in it? Should i be on this? Can i update to new froyo manually instead of waiting?

Ill thank the person that helps me with these questions i promise!!

Thanks guys

Easiest way to tell is buy the build number:

  • ERD79 & ERE27 = US T Mobile
  • EPE54B = US AT&T
  • EPF21B & EPF30 = Euro Vodafone

If it is one of the US phones, you can install FRF85B (Froyo release) on it manually, if it is a Voda one then you must unlock the bootloader to install it. This may not be the end of the world, as it was given out by Google, it could be an S-OFF model, you can check this by entering the bootloader (power off phone, hold trackball and turn on) and reading the top line of text. If the last bit of it is S-OFF, you can re-lock the bootloader.
