Where is the Number Keypad? It's STILL MISSING!

Honestly

Lurker
The symbols key used to be the doorway to opening up a keypad which resembles a phone dialer. It's not available anymore... my ”Symbols” key has not available since 7.1.0 And by holding down the ”Symbols” key the ”123” key would show up. So... I am never able to see the ”123” key anymore! In the bottom left, all I have is the tool icon ”gear”, above that is the caps ”Up Arrow”, to the right of the gear is the ”smiley” icon...

I simply cannot find a method of making the number keypad available. It's the same as the phone dialing keypad, in case I haven't explained it correctly. It used to be available by holding down on symbol key which would cause the ”123” key to show - press that and voila', but that doesn't happen anymore... No Joy!

Thank you @tommo47 you put me on the right track... I cleared the app cache with no effect. But it caused me to dig around a little bit, and I checked the keyboard layout in languages. The QWERTY layout was selected (as I expected). But, I decided to choose the QWERTZ layout just to see what happened, No Joy! I changed it back to QWERTY, tested again, and - Bingo! The old, friendly keyboard is back again!

Frankly, I forgot just how different this keyboard is. I really had to change the way I was typing when it disappeared... All of the symbols that you take for granted are in different places. I've been using an extremely sucky keyboard for the better part of a year!

Thanks again, I cannot tell you how happy I am to have this keyboard back. FYI Google help was not able to offer any usable suggestions.
