Help Where the hell's my WiFi?!

Sooo...all of the sudden I have no signal from my wireless router. I have a Samsung Epic 4G Touch on Sprint. For example, I'll attempt to access the Android Market, Amazon App Store, or whatever with my WiFi engaged and I won't be able to access it. Says, "no connection" and times me out. Then I'll turn off my WiFi and the 3G network kicks back on and viola "network connectivity restored" and I'm able to keep on rockin'. My phone's WiFi symbol is lit up and shows it is indeed connected, but still got notta as far as connectivity goes. So, what gives?! Haven't been doing anything too crazy with my phone outside of downloading and installing some goodness from the stores and doing regular smartphone things, but yesterday the phone seems to be hatin' on the WiFi. Thoughts on what's up and how to remedy this screwy situtation? The WiFi signal is just fine and pumpin' out to computers and other phones, so it is not the problem. Help! Thanks!

Interesting, but in my case I haven't changed anything. Could one of my downloaded applications changed a setting all by itself? This situation is so annoying. Any other suggestions? Please say you do! Arrrrgh...

Things to try:

1). Make sure when using WiFi (WiFi Enabled) that "Mobile Data" setting is Off/Disabled.

2). Put the phone in Airplane Mode then Enable WiFi, observe it "Connect" (this is like a WiFi-only mode).

3). Take it to the Sprint Store, they can probably help you for free or cheap.

Sigh. Thanks for the suggestions, but, they did not work. I have never had to take a phone in anywhere to have it fixed and I really doubt this one needs it, nontheless, if this is a first, I will not be pleased. There must be something software or application related - something, anything! Anything else to try...puhleesss!!!

If you've never had to take a phone in anywhere to have it fixed, consider yourself very lucky. ;) Now, are your computers in your house able to connect to this wifi? Why not try resetting the router, and modem to see if that works. My phone has never been able to connect to my wifi in my house for some reason (just never connects). My router is a Linksys (forget the model number, but it's a common one).

Have you also tried, deleting your home's wifi in your phone, then re-discovering it? See if that works.

Ummm...really?! Okay, I don't understand. As the story goes, everything else in my house that can access the WiFi from my router was, in fact, accessing that glorious wireless signal with no problem. Everything was rockin' and enjoying the untethered goodness. Enter my phone, which all of the sudden was not a part ot the wireless party. "So," I thought, "the problem cannot lie with the router itself seeing that everything else on the network was cookin' it up new-school." After seeing your reply I figured why not "reboot" the router - even though, as I said, every other device had no problems accessing it. Well...lo-and-behold, my SGS2E4GT is now back on the dance floor and sucking in the beautiful wireless signal that is WiFi. My quesiton now is, WTF?! How is that possible?

Oh, and I reserve the right to reopen and rehit this thread if it happens again. So don't go too far.

@Jaroam,

Even though you have it corrected now, I was thinking you could take the phone somwhere with free/open WiFi access (McDonalds for example). If the phone works w/ that WiFi then you know the issue is probably not with the phone.

Good you have it worked out!
