Where's JellyBean???

It's sense so it looks the same r deep, one thing I am a little disappointed by is the notifications tab.. with the exception of the power saving button it doesn't show notifications any differently to before :D Just nit picking though it has been a great update

Lol, I didn't know until a couple of months back either :p

It means USB On The Go. Basically, with the assistance of a cable you can pick up from Amazon for about

Oh right, thanx :)

In that case then no I haven't tried it :)

I take it that even though this means you can plug in controllers you still need your phone rooted to use them?

I don't believe you need root, but I can't be 100% sure (I can't test either, sorry). I know it works straight out of the box on my Nexus 7.

This is the one I went for: Micro USB Host Mode On The Go OTG Cable for Nexus 7: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

They're all much the same though if you want to give it a go. If you've a Maplin near you, they might have them in stock too.

That looks like it could be handy (if you don't mind a memory stick flapping in the breeze) for getting extra memory if you run low.

I`m getting JB right now, in the UK and havent had to force it with any APKs too.
I`m unlocked sim free phone, think my CID is 001 (?)

Just tried to plug a WD Passport drive in using the special connector that has Micro usb to usb adapter... The drive lights up but doesn't have enough power to spin up the drive so looks good, I bet if I had an external powered HD it would work...

Setting under storage in settings at the bottom shows USB storage but it stayed unavailable the whole time...

On a good note, it did power up a USB Xbox controller... Green lights went off straight away but havent had any time to try it out...

This lack of update on the AT&T model whereas everyone else (basically) has it or can get it is making me start to hate AT&T. I disliked them before, but now I can hardly stand the fact that a carrier is making me wait on an update so they can add their stupid bloat to my phone.

Yeah, I`m good now, I had an online chat with HTC bod, who told me to take the power out, then it continued with the install, all good now.

personally i dont reccommend this update. Its not worth it until you know exactly what changes it makes.

I've only had it since lunch time but its difficult to notice any real benefits. If anything they taken out a few simple features which were good and replaced them by bloating the phone with apps and features we didn't ask for or need.

Now everytime i plug my phone into 1 of the 3 Computers I use to charge, the PC bleeps several times as it installs drivers, software and tries to decide what type of device it is.

given the choice I'd go back to how it was

To be honest I have to agree. I was lookin forward to JB and thought it would make my phone amazing however I have had the update since yesterday I actually think there is no improvement whatsoever. Infact some of the things I liked have now disappeared like the keyboard minimise button in portrait mode. Not a big thing but just an example. Another thing I don't like the fact everything is now blue what was wrong with green. I also lost the Mic icon button on my keyboard and had to turn the phone off and on again to get that back. To be honest I ain't really seen anything thats mind blowing from ICS. My opinion is its a pretty pish update unless Im missing somethin major.

What is amazing is the improved voice recognition. Siri has nothing on this.
Give it a go with Google translate and it works perfectly in English and german.
I've got the father in law over for Christmas and now I've got no excuse not to communicate with him....

Tried the OTG cable i use on my Nexus 7, but all i get is 'USB storage blank or has unsupported file format'. Using a 16Gb USB key that works fine on my 7. Finish for the holidays tonight (woohoo) so will hoepfully have time to have a play around properly tomorrow.
