I've not tried an external drive on my N7, but I know without root, it works with both my Xbox and Sixaxis controller.

Could be the format of your USB key.

As far as I know it should be FAT32.
NTFS the phone won't support.

El Presidente. Doh! Nexus Media Importer (I have it on the N7) installed and films running fine. That will teach me to try and do things in a hurry.

Harry, USB is formatted to NTFS. Runs fine with the above app. As you say, must be the One X software not supporting the NTFS format.
 
Just wondering, has anyone tried the apk force through for JB with a carrier branded handset? Or does this only work for unbranded ones?

I've been wondering this too. I'm assuming it only works on tegra 3 models and not s4 ones, but I don't know the CID's it works for

Hey guys,

update: 19/12 - guys as well you may k of the by now three are saying that the update won't be out until mid Jan! Yes it was confirmed in the ota/eta thread but I think in boxed the user and waiting for a message back. Please let me know if you hear anything as normal. Thanks

update: 17/12 - voda and O2 has released the update! No confirms as of yet for H3G but there was a method tried by myself and a few others where I got the 2 apk's from the small update to try and force the ota. This doesn't work so please don't try it quys.
If anyone get the update please share *fingerscrossed

Can't say that i have, but there again mine never played up in the first place.
Only thing i have found & it did it with ICS, if you plug in the usb cable to the pc with the phone asleep then you can't get the screen to come on.
The only way to clear it is hold the power button down till the phone reboots.
 
HTC has apparently started releasing the 4.1 update for unbranded one XL's. In case y'all forgot, the XL is the model with LTE, whether it's called the X or XL (looking at you, at&t). So hopefully this is good news for those of us that have carrier-locked models with LTE
 
Gotta say, I'm finding my battery life a bit suspect after this update.. I'm a few days in now and even after doing a full factory reset it's still a bit poor. Apps like FB Reader seem to be using a lot more power than they did before, that is probably my most used app too.

Finding my battery life doesn't seem as good as before the update. Screen doesn't seem as responsive either.
Busy downloading everything before a factory reset.

Are you sure they actually are, or is it just showing that in the battery usage screen? Remember, HTC (for some stupid reason) removed screen from the chart, so it has to adjust every other app and thing (all of them way up in %) to still make 100%
 
I'm getting about 8hrs out of a full charge before I'm in the orange compared to near 24 before the update.
 
Mine has improved i am happy to say took mine off charge yesterday morning around 8.00 am, last night when i normally have around 68 - 72% i had 85% battery left.
Even now i have 63% at 14:58.
For me i am finding a nice improvement.
