wheres my droid and google voice

So I found this great piece of software that allows you to track your droidphone in case its stolen. One way to activate it is to send an sms saying wheres my droid?

However, I don't use a text plan. Only use GV. Is there a way to make it work with wheres my droid or is there another free alternative?

I believe all the apps are pay, but here is a free solution without SMS


A) Sign up for Latitude on maps.

B) Get a second gmail account (use it for junk set ups).

C) Send a latitude request from your main gamil to you spam one.

D) Get Locale... Set up a rule where if you call from home - or any specific number (I use my Google Voice number) - it turns on WiFi and GPS.

D2) I also have it turn my ringer all the way up in case the phon eis lost in my couch cushions.


When you do that, you can track your phone from iGoogle signing in with your spam account.
