Whether S3 has the temperature sensor in it?

Hello, everyone,

Recently, I am doing the work on sensors in Android phone now.
I find Samsung Galaxy S3 has no temperature sensor device in it through my coding? I want to use the temperature sensor to detect the temperature in the room.

I search for the Internet and find nothing on it.
Could anyone who are familiar with such things give me the proof?

Thank you very much.

I highly doubt it has a temperature sensor other than the one for its battery.

Well it has a barometer which seems like something they could easily have cut out, unless it has a purpose I don't know about...

Do other phones have thermometers in then? Surely they aren't able to give accurate air temperature readings?

The S3 features GPS/A-GPS, a built-in gyroscope, digital compass, plus screen-flipping accelerometer, proximity as well as a barometer.

Thank you for your reply. I already use the software method to test whether it has temperature sensor. I should tell my boss the verification that it doesn't have the temperature sensor. I don't want to make sth. wrong. Do you know where I can find all the device info(including all the sensor devices in it) about S3?

Thank you very much, too.
I want to ask for the same question: Do you know where I can find all the device info(including all the sensor devices in it) about S3?
I should make sure whether it has temperature sensors in it.

just google "(insert model number here) specs gsmarena"

dont just type "galaxy s3", use the specific carrier model to get the correct specs, such as i9300, sgh-t999, et cetera...

My S3 has the temperature sensor in it;)

The only smartphone that I know of that has a thermometer for ambient temperature is the Casio G'zOne Commando. Most smartphones just have a temperature sensor for the battery/processor so that it can shut itself off if it gets too hot. There's no way you'd be able to use it to get an accurate ambient temperature reading.

I have Android Assistant and it gives the temperature of the CPU plus very detailed info about usage, as pie charts.

The Galaxy S3 has not a temperature guage.
However the S4 does indeed have a thermometer
EDIT: just realized this was a few months old. Apologies.
