Which Android has the best battery life??

Any phone can get improved battery life tremendously via an underclock (if you are a root user), and also an improved battery for your phone. After that, there are methods to keeping any phone alive for multiple days. Don't get a phone for its battery, get one that you like, and make it work.
Android Battery Life Optimization Guide ~ Android Advantage
My article is proven very useful to improving your battery.

...um... that link/info therein really boarders on spam.

@Kim, for what you are describing, it doesn't sound like you really need a smart phone. A regular phone can do e-mail, text and make calls, and the battery life would be better. No smart phone is going to have a great battery life, except maybe a Blackberry.

Anyone have experience with those extended battery 3500mah with extended battery door from Amazon?

3500mah should last for days.....

@Kim

I've had a desire which is pretty awful with regards to battery. 2 days is the best it lasted, even after I rooted it.

However, my brother has a HTC wildfire which lasts 3 days if used lightly. This puts it above most android phones. I'd guess the lower resolution screen saves a lot of battery compared to the screen of higher spec phones.

It might be worth looking at the wildfire or the wildfire S- this has a slightly larger battery than the original.

Impossible.

Only if you don't use the phone at all, and turn all the connections off.

What is impossible?

My Evo 3D can last for 2 days with light usage, full connectivity. I am rooted, and use custom ROMs/kernels. But I also overclock and I use Google Voice, so background data has to be enabled. I also leave autosync on and let my Facebook widget update once an hour. I even have Google Talk auto logged in.

I've found that turning 3g data off saves a lot if you only need your phone on. Also turn off syncing, gps, and wifi until needed and then switch off again when you don't. When you have wifi on you should also turn off 3g data.

Well....yeah, but doing all that makes a 'smart' phone not-so-smart no?

Hi guys,

I am perhaps somehow a specific case since I would like to use an Android phone for monitoring my holiday house.

I am looking for an Android phone that has:
- at least 2.2,
- GPS
- Wifi
- Camera
- a good processor capable of running DDNS service and surveilance software
- as currently planned, the phone will be connected to the router via Wifi - I am totally aware of the battery issues that this may cause, but is still seems to be the best way
- as poor display (resolution, size etc.) as possible,
- as good batery as possible.

Of course the phone will be connected to the power supply via micro-USB, but still the less power, the better.

What would be the best phone to achieve this? Some capacitive touch screen would be enough.

Could you point me to some phone that would be the most appropriate for achieving this?

Thx.

Am having 3 of these phones
S.E Xperia Play
HTC Desire S
LG Optimus Black.
All 3 phones daily usage is about the same. Wifi and GPS is only active when needed. For out standing battery on a single charge it has to be the LG Optimus Black.
Wife has a Samsung Galaxy S2 the battery life is terrible.

Well, my samsung galaxy beam i8520 could last up to 3-5 days without charging with a normal usage, the battery is 1800mha, but its mainly to power the projector, well it can only last for 5 days if i dont use the projector at all, but one bad thing is this phone is EOL, kinda sluggish, using a 2.1 eclair.. well if i were to undervolt it, i bet it could last longer, it has a smaller resolution, a slower processor compared to my galaxy s2 but a larger battery, if it were to receive updates on the OS, it should improve the battery life even more but high hopes for that :D

I just bought mobile phone from Honkong. Philips V726. It has amazing battery life of 1000hours stanby time and 15hours of talking time. It has Android 2.2 and 5Mpx - very good camera. Only down side is closed system and no 3G network. Im thinking to sell it.

Battery life is just like a car gas tank.

I messed up a little with a Galaxy S2 today that had 50% of battery left after a 37 hour uptime.

My Galaxy S won't last more than 8 hours somedays, the average being 14hrs.

It all comes down to how you use it.

I've got a HTC Sensation (Pyramid in the US i think) with a 1520mha original battery.. and it drains in a day. Bought this
eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices
yesterday after a tip on another forum and while it's the same size it gives you around 400mhz extra to play with which is enough to make a difference it seems.

I've tried some different roms and the one giving me the best battery life was one of the CM7 one's found on XDA. Running ARHD 6.5.1 now and it's a bit worse, but worth it for ICS :)

(Sorry for hXXp in the link but just registered to write this post:)
EDIT: Ok, great, still not working very well. Search ebay for "Anker Extended Battery for HTC Sensation 4G G14 1900mAh" to find the battery im talking about..
