Welcome Ganjii to Android Forums!

Without knowing more about where you live, it's kind of hard to offer advice.

Phones differ from country to country and carrier to carrier. If you know what phones you like the look off then that are offered by carriers in your region, you can go to the phones forum here at AF and there will be guides there for rooting and/or unlocking the bootloader of that device.

Not sure what your talking about when you say "unlock codes".

If you can provide some more information as to where you are etc. then I'm sure someone will be able to help more.

Good luck!

When I say "unlock codes" I mean to unlock the phone in order to use it with whatever carrier I want. I know how to root & unlock bootloader, but just not sure which phones I am able to unlock for use with any carrier.

I live in Denver, Colorado by the way.

Just about any gsm device can be unlocked, however if the carrier is unwilling to give you the subsidy unlock code you're going to have to go through a 3rd party vendor and probably pay $20 to $25 usually delivered instantly by email. And it will only work with gsm carriers, there's no phone available in the USA that will work with both gsm and cdma carriers.

Actually the old HTC Desire can usually be network unlocked with a little utility you can download, so there are some you can do yourself without paying a fee.
