Hi,
I have a Motorola Milestone XT 800, purchased from India. The phone's hardware supports EDGE and I used to surf using this many times. Recently, I screwed up my phone while trying to mod it and had to flash it with a SBF file of my phone's Chinese counterpart - Motorola XT 800 Zhishang. Both the phones have similar hardware and the Zhishang does support EDGE.
However, my phone does not seem to connect on to EDGE. It connects to GPRS though. In addition, while earlier my phone would dynamically load my Carrier/Operator's name in the Notification/Status bar, now it only shows the five digit carrier code.
I'd like to debug things and compare with a backup of my previous Sysem files. Does anyone know which app or resource manages Data connectivity and how I can get back on to EDGE?
Thank you for your time.
Shahid
