Help Which Browser?

Hi, I'm new here any only just entered the world of Android last week, so please be kind :)

I have been looking at reviews all over the web of the various browsers available, but keep getting different answers everywhere I go, and i guess there is reason for this; each browser has their own strengths and weaknesses.

But i haven't seen it asked which Browser would be best for use on the Galaxy Ace.

I am aware of the pros of browsers such as Opera Mini (speed) and cons such as the fact that it doesn't support flash. For me, it seems to be a toss up between Opera Mini and Dolphin HD. Why not Dolphin Mini though? or why not Opera Mobile?

Please advise me, I'm oh so confused :(

Thanks

I've always used Opera mini, mainly because of the speed, and I like that it starts up with the screen giving easy access to 9 sites of your choice. I tried Opera mobile once and it wasn't as good as mini, but I can't remember what the difference was.. Dolphin HD I've never tried as I haven't had any problems with Opera mini.

They're all free in the market so you could try them all and just go with the one you find easiest to use/meets your requirements.

I am using and have had no problems so far. The one issue I have is that, when I exit opera, it stays running, and i have to close it via task manager. Does this happen with you? and if so, do you just leave it and close it manually? or is there a way to make is close every time I exit Opera

Thanks

Yep that happens for me too. I normally go into task manager and end it, but I think if you leave it long enough it will go on its own.. I don't know of any way to make it go completely straight away, but the same thing happens with the standard browser so I never thought of it as being an issue.

I suppose its no big issue, I just want to save as much battery life as possible, I'm also cautious of it eating into my internet allowance when running in the background. I guess I will just have to manually close it through the task manager each time I exit.

Thanks for the help wearethestorm (Y)

I wouldn't worry about it using data in the background, you'd have to refresh a page or open a new one for data to be used. The browser staying open just means if you need to use it again soon it will load almost instantly, rather than take a few seconds.

No problem!

I like Opera mini (uses opera server caches) and Opera mobile for fast navigation, but Adobe Flash is not working with these browsers. Dolphin HD have more features and works fine with custom Adobe Flash for ACE.
Best choice for me is to have Opera mini and Dolphin HD installed.

I bought my phone yesterday & am currently using the default browser but I cant seem to exit it gracefully even though it closes, its running in the background & I have to close it thru task manager. Is there a better way of exiting? Am I doing something wrong?

you cannot exit default browser directly as for opera mobile go to settings-advanced-exit button-ON

now you can directly exit opera mobile without going to task manager with pressing red O you will get an exit button

i use opera mobile with turbo enabled.

I mainly use the stock browser and ocasionally Dolphin HD. Never liked how Opera works, but thats just a personal opinion.
