Which email widget supports instant refresh?

Hi, my research wasn't very fruitful so I hope to get some pointers here.

I'm running K9 for my email needs and it does a great job!

However, I would like to run a 4x2 widget on my home screen to see my latest emails that came in.

I've tried widget from Gmail, the stock email app (from MetroPCS) and INO and none of those update newly incoming emails within the widget.

So despite getting email notifications (sound) I still see old emails in the widget.

I'm not rooted and I'm not planning on doing so but I really would like an email widget that updates instantly when new emails come in.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your time!

You may want to check out Executive Assistant (a free version is also available). It does more than just email, but the email part does update instantly whenever you get a new email, as long as you are using one of the supported email clients (K9, Kaiten, Enhanced Email, or TouchDown -- AquaMail coming soon!).

If you really only want an email widget, you can even configure EA to be email-only, though you'll probably want to take advantage of at least some of its other tabs (calendar, tasks, missed calls, sms/mms, facebook, twitter, and/or google reader).

I use the K9 widget and click it if it has a number on it. I'd rather not have a big widget updating all the time, waste of battery and screen space.

I also tried Message Center for bit that I think does what you want, but I thought it used too much juice.

I'm doing pretty good with the battery as of right now. I wanted to check if I can run the widget without compromising too much of the battery usage.

If it drains it too much much I'll remove it again but I like to see incoming emails right on the home screen instead of having to click another icon to get there...

I know I'm lazy...

Awesome, thanks for your tip. AE looks promising. Will try it out.
