Which is the best Android phone for me?

Hello everyone, i've read hundreds of threads yet am still not sure.

I am looking to find out which is likely to be the best Android phone for me.
I was hoping for advice.

I really use my phone for texting and calls, byt not much else, perhaps the odd game? I have an iPad tha i use for email / web and i take it pretty much everywhere with me.

I like the iPhone, but, as i have an iPad already, i figured I shouldn't put all my eggs in one basket as it were.

Of course I've not looked at the apps available for the Android much, i'd imagine once i have one i'm gonna end up downloading everything.

Thoughts?

If you're only going to use it for text and calls, get the cheapest one you can get, without a dataplan.
