which is the best power control widget?

I have tried the stock one but it has only 5 controls. I'd like to add data connection and airplane mode. I've tried widgetsoid and switchpro but their GPS and data connection switches don't turn things on/off but bring up a page with the option.

Go Launcher has a power bar that can handle 10 items....and offers about 20 or so total entities to choose from (bluetooth, brightness, wi-fi, et al).

I love SwitchPro Widget. It's not free, but you get any freaking widget you could ever need/want. You can customize the colors, backgrounds, how many controls, use multiple widgets...the possibilities are endless. I think with ICS, you can put the widget in the notification bar, but since I don't have it yet, I can't confirm. You won't regret it.

One caveat about this app, though. For some reason, it will not allow you to toggle GPS on/off. Instead, you are taken to the settings screen and have to do it from there. Very annoying and the dev doesn't reply when I ask why he can't do it while other apps can. I love the app so much, I deal with it, so just letting you know ahead of time. (I try leaving GPS on 24/7, but for some reason, it shuts itself off after a while)

I use Extended Controls, and on their app, they say that Verizon doesn't allow third party apps to instantly turn off GPS. Only the stock Toggle:GPS works for that anymore.

Well, they can say what they want. (I heard it was Google, not Verizon, that supposedly limited this) I have GPS OnOff by Curvefish and it works fine. How can they do it, but no one else can? Weird?

+1. I use Go Launcher EX, Go Switch, and Go Power Master with good results.

I have not tried Moto's Smart Actions, which should allow for "easier" power management as it is automated.

Just program the smart actions to do what you want, when or where you want it done. This is the easiest way to turn things off and on as it does it automatically for you. For instance i have set one up to turn off my gps, bluetooth, set ringer to silent, and send text auto replies when I am in meetings, as well as turning my screen brightness down... u get the point... all when I am at work. You can set up countless rules, the smart actions are pretty ingenious.
