Which phone is better iPhone 5s or galaxy note 3?

Hey guys I've had both devices for a whole now. I've used the note 3 as a daily driver and it's an interesting phone. The customisation are endless.so refined and useful.
My friend has the iPhone 5s and I'm pretty impressed by how it runs and what the new iOS 7 features have to offer.
I'm not sure which phone forums better. I've had a chance to play with both and I might say the iPhone is pretty smooth.
My galaxy note 3 is a BEAST...I love it but I get crashes frequently. Maybe it's because of nova that got installed a few days ago.
I'm just stuck between which device is a better phone.
I'm an android fanatic but wanna hear a few opinions about what you guys think.

I quite like my missus 5s, I know quite a few people who are apple purists that really don't like iOS 7 but I thought it was much nicer than 6.. it's much snappier than android that's for sure, apps that she has that I also have on my HTC one just run better and look smoother. Then I look at the bad points, phone is far too small, even the simplest tasks like putting a ringtone on you have to hook it into iTunes, make the song only 30secs long, convert the file then rename it.. I'd only go to iPhone if they make the screen bigger and I can jailbreak it immediately.

I think your note and the 5s are two completely different devices and you would miss your note, especially the lack of landscape you are used to. I'd say the iPhone is the better phone but the note and android in general is the better all rounder, good at most things but only excelling at a few.

If you are running Jelly Bean you can try running in Safe Mode (disabling all apps you added without uninstalling them). That would dell you if it was an app you added )including Nova or Nova Prime).

Note 3 is not exactly a traditional phone? It's a mini tablet with phone abilities, if you want a phone maybe you should consider a different Android device? Samsung S4 or HTC One would be a good place to start.

Yeah. Your right. The iPhone has good features that a simplistic person would appreciate. I looked at my friends apps. The games he has and how the graphics have evolved from the iPhone 4, to the 5s. I was impressed.
But the note 3 hd screen is mind blowing but it keeps crashing randomly. When ever I play music at times it would vibrate randomly and the music would stop.
I was thinking maybe I has a notification but I didn't. Thee are small irritations. I also get a lot of crashes.
But other than that I love my device.

I'd take a guess and say it's your launcher that is causing the problems, did it have the problems before you put that on? I would follow thoms advice, as a reletively new device you shouldn't be having those sorts of problems.

Yeah I was. It's still pretty laggy. No idea why. I thought nova was a good launcher.

I have an iPhone 5S a Galaxy S4, and a Note 3.

In my opinion all three are excellent, just different. If one studies up on these it's easier to form an opinion as to which will suit you best. Personal preferences play a much larger part than just a year ago because Android has made substantial progress.

My personal ongoing experience reveals the Note 3 is by far the very best for me. It's very fast, stable, and reliable. Even more stable than either my iPhone 5 of last year or my new 5S which has been crashing from day one. I returned it for a replacement yet the crashes persist. At least Apple admits it and is working on a fix.

My Galaxy S4 , is also just delightful. No issues at all. So for my needs which include work, I'm thrilled that I'm no longer having to live with the tiny buggy iPhone 5S.

I'd visit the Note 3 forum and see what hints people there have.

Nova runs absolutely lag free on my HTC One, which is less powerful than a Note 3. It could be that the Note 3's software clashes with Nova in some way - I expect the Note 3 has a new version of Samsung's software, and if there's some conflict with Nova the dev won't have had much time to fix or work around it because the phone is very new. But if it was having problems before you installed Nova that's obviously something else, in which case other owners will be the best people to help.

I was thinking this as well - it's not uncommon for an app to have issues with a brand new phone. However, in this thread many people say they are using Nova with the Note 3 and I didn't see any complaints.
