Which phones will still work?

I messaged Metro on Facebook, asking which phones would not work later this year or whenever they switch off, But the person who messaged back said all the phones they currently have will continue to work, as metro and T-Mobile have already merged.
Can anyone tell me if this is correct?
With the low prices right now I was thinking of getting the Nokia Lumia and the One touch fierce. But I'm hoping both will continue to work.

Both are GSM phones, so they will both work. Metro doesn't carry (at least to my knowledge) CDMA phones any more.

My local corporate stores don't have 'em any more, and I haven't been to one of the authorized dealers in a long time.

when you can get gsm devices for 50 bucks how much can they possible squeeze out of a spirit?

I got $130 for mine a week ago on Fleabay with 2 cases. Had someone call today on the local Craigslist ad at the same price.

There ARE those areas that have better CDMA than GSM and there's still over a year of CDMA left.

Thanks for the info ! So I'm guessing the Samsung Galaxy s3 will still work. I skipped that phone, I thought I read it was CDMA only.
