Root Which screen does my phone have?

I saw where they had a screen change in August of 2011 for the Optimus V just wondering how I can tell what model I have seeing I don't know when it was brought.I'm trying to root/install ROM but don't want to have the black screen.

I've only been here for a few months, and I really love the village! Came here all the way from Tacoma Washington hehe (I miss the dreary overcast weather there, but love the thunderstorms here!)
