which tablet texting app

Using Talkatone and Google Voice will give your WiFi enabled Nexus 7 free phone and text service across the United States and Canada.

I use Desk SMS, on Gnex and desktop and it works wonderfully. Tablet SMS works fantastic and is essentially a tablet extension of same. It is extremely reliable. Working together, you can view an SMS message on desktop, phone or tablet.

I use TabletTalk; you need an Android phone though as it sends/receives TXT/MMS using the phone as its modem.

Can also send and receive calls with it, although again, the audio comes through the phone. Not a problem if you have a BT headset; and there's also an option to answer with the phone's speakerphone.

Has a dialer, call log, message inbox, etc, all like it was running on the tablet itself. Integrates and acts like a native dialer for apps.

Well two people are giving the Verizon messaging app a thumbs up so I guess I'll have to try it out. Using mighty text now, but the phone has to be on. Also use Google Voice and GrooveIP but it texts from a different number.

I've been using both MightyText and Verizon Messages.
I would give the advantage to Verizon Meaaages, because it allows you to delete multiple threads at once. MightyText doesn't have this option. You have to delete every thread one by one.
Verizon Messages also displays MMS pictures within a thread. MightyText only displays text within a thread.

Do you know if the Chrome Extension works with Linux Chrome for the PC?
I'm thinking of trying MT out.

Thnx.

Absolutely. Chrome extension for Mighty Text works perfectly under linux. I am running Red Hat Enterprise 6 (RHEL6). Linux version shouldn't matter. Should work just fine. Neall

Thanks. I'll have to give both a try. I may be one of the last web users who haven't used Chrome browser. :)
